A Tribute To Deacon J T Morris

With grateful hearts, we honour the life and legacy of Deacon J. T. Morris, a true man of God who wholeheartedly supported the Men’s Summit and served the Church of God of Prophecy with unwavering devotion. Today, 9 November 2024, we remember a dedicated leader, a caring pastor, a pillar of strength, and a beloved friend whose impact extended far beyond the confines of any one ministry.

Deacon Morris was among the most faithful and dedicated men in the Men’s Ministry, particularly at our Men’s Summit. His commitment to these gatherings helped shape their success and impact, and his encouragement provided the strength many needed to advance in their spiritual journeys. Deacon Morris understood the importance of mentoring and uplifting men of God, and his influence within our men’s fellowship will be deeply missed.

Brother Morris embodied the spirit of service. Whether he was providing for the needs of others at camps across the country or greeting each person with his magnetic smile and warmth, he was always there with open hands and a generous heart. He did not merely cater to physical needs; he cared deeply for the spiritual well-being of everyone he encountered. His gift of discernment allowed him to understand others, often before they spoke, and he offered his presence as a source of strength and comfort.

As Job said in Job 29:16, “I was a father to the needy; I took up the case of the stranger.” Deacon Morris lived this truth daily, serving tirelessly as feet to the lame and eyes to the blind. He was one of God’s generals, standing firm in faith and representing the very spinal column of the church with his dedication and resilience. His service was not just an action but a reflection of who he was: a man after God’s heart.

Deacon Morris served alongside his beloved wife, Pastor Gloria Morris, and together, they enriched the lives of so many within our community. We will cherish his kindness, caring words, and unwavering dedication to God’s work forever. As we reflect on his legacy, we remember the words of Jesus in John 14:1-3: “Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”

We take comfort in knowing that Deacon Morris is now resting in one of those many rooms prepared especially for him.

We salute this great soldier of God, this stalwart who represents the essence of faith, compassion, and dedication. May we all strive to carry the torch he has lit for us. May God bless the Morris family, and may His peace that surpasses all understanding guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amen.
